Private Lessons    * Individual Speech & Voice Coaching Sessions

If you're considering lessons with Pure Voice Power,

it's possible that your

employer might pay for

(or partially help with )

payment for your lessons.

Why should a company invest in speech and voice training for employees?

According to Lorna Sikorski of LDS Associates in Santa Ana, CA: (Kathy corrected the grammar)

“Businesses often pay for professional upgrades out of their continuing education/skill-building budgets. It's a smart professional investment for many reasons but training such as this avoids the high price of employee turnover, which incurs much higher costs in orientation and time for new workers to reach the point on the learning curve necessary for maximum job function.”

About Private Coaching

One-on-one coaching is the best way to achieve optimum results for speech and voice improvement.

You may just need a few lessons or you may want to purchase a package. You may just want to book and pay for one lesson to see how you like it.

As your personal communications guru, Kathy's lessons are customized for you with the goal being to achieve results using exercises and techniques to best suit your way of learning.

Sessions include:

• A profile outlining YOUR goals and time line for monitored progress
• All learning materials
• A “no-fuss” practice routine for you addressing specific areas of your speech and vocal improvement.
• Handouts with Kathy’s personal exercises for practicing specific vowels and consonants you need to improve for clearer diction
• Audio files for practice

Kathy's intensive diction practice workout builds muscle in different areas. These exercises will have a positive impact on how well you speak (articulate), in tandem with your voice quality, the dexterity of your facial muscles and proper, and controlled release of breath.

              For Those with Vocal Challenges:

I have been working with people to improve their voices for almost three decades. My students and clients have come to me with a wide variety of vocal challenges. There is always something we can do to get you on the right track to having the voice quality you desire.

Your vocal tone can be modified. We all have a unique sound quality we were born with.

Voices are like fingerprints:  no two voices in the world are identical.

  • Does your voice sound too nasal?

  • Is your voice too quiet?

  • Is your voice too loud?

  • Do you mumble?

  • Is your voice too 'hooty'?

  • Does your voice sound like a child?

  • Is your voice too breathy?

  • Do  you speak too high - or low?

  • Do you talk in a monotone style?

  • Do you talk too fast or slow?

  • Is your accent so dense that people often ask you to repeat yourself ?

  • Do you have a small vocal range?

  • Is your voice abused from yelling or straining to be heard?

The issues above can be addressed effectively.

As you understand, everyone is different and the rate of progress will vary from person to person.

If Something is Wrong with Your Voice

Vocal challenges might due to improper use. In this case, I will teach you proper and healthy voice technique. You can correct many voice problems through exercises, patience and awareness.

Sometimes voice challenges are a sign that you should seek advice from a medical practitioner. I am not a doctor. If there is something physically wrong with your voice, please see your physician to be referred to an ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat doctor) or an  Otolaryngologist.

If you don't have access to a doctor, visit a walk-in clinic. If your voice "hurts" beyond normal fatigue or occasional bouts of hoarseness, then that is probably a clue that you should receive a medical diagnosis.

Is YOUR Voice any one of these Types?

Kathy has identified approximately 16 different types of vocal qualities. These voice types can be modified:

1.) The Bottom Talker
2.) The Breathy Voice
3.) The Shy Whisperer
4.) The FM - D.J. Guy (a.k.a. “Mr. Smoothy”)
5.) The Shrill Voice
6.) The Nasal Voice
7.) The Opera Talker
8.) The Hooty Voice
9.) The Monotone Voice
10.) The Pressure Talker
11.) The Strangled Voice
12.) The Scratchy Voice
13.) The Twangy Voice
14.) The Gutteral Voice
15.) The Male Falsetto Talker
16.) The Little Child Voice

And there can be blends of more than one voice type. You may be the “twangy - bottom talker”.  Or perhaps the “hooty - opera talker”.

You can modify your voice to get close to the desired quality or to minimize the unwanted tone. You may only need a little ‘tweaking’ to get your voice nearer to the sound you dream of having.
